Inflatable Refugee – A giant migrant floating in the waters of Copenhagen

2016-05-27 // art

A giant migrant is currently floating in the waters of Copenhagen. This amazing 7 meters high inflatable installation representing a refugee has been designed by the Belgian collective Schellekens & Peleman, which of course pays tribute to all the people forced to leave everything behind to escape the horrors of war, but also denounces the conditions of refugees arriving in European countries. This artwork is composed of Zodiacs fabric, frequently used by smugglers in the Mediterranean sea.
