“Love Hurts” is a special first aid kit for a broken heart imagined by designer Melanie Chernok to comfort the brokenhearted. This case, with a clean and simple design using the colors of first aid kits, contains everything you need in case of heartache: chocolate, vodka, a music CD, scented candle and matches, bubble bath and small candies… An excellent project created with a nice touch of humor!

The “Alternative Limb Project” was born in the mind of the designer Sophie de Oliveira Barata, who had the idea to reconsider the approach of prosthetics, using the regard of art and design, as objects that is shown, not that we try to hide. Her design studio has thinked three trends, “realistic”, “surreal” and “unreal”, and now has created some absolutely gorgeous prosthetic legs or arms…

Smart Treadmill Voyager – The future of treadmills?

Here is the “Smart Treadmill Voyager“, a concept of treadmill, designed by Korean designer Il-Seop Yoon, which proposes to make these gym devices more fun through interactivity. Equipped with a large screen, but also a system for detecting movement between Kinect and Wii, this futuristic treadmill proposes to couple together race and video games like endless runners, virtual races in different parts of the world, but also to add a social dimension in gaming offering you to play against your friends or beat scores and challenges…

The “Tea Calendar“, a tea calendar imagined by designers on behalf of Hälssen & Lyon, a German tea manufacturer. Each day of this calendar is actually made of tea leaves compressed with the date printed on it with edible ink. So every day, just pick up the corresponding day, and infuse it in some hot water! Here is today a new selection of his creations from these series “Brains”, “Renewable Energy” or “Soft Guerilla”. Kyle Bean is a multi-talented artist, from sculpture to illustration through the woodwork, who makes his editorial and advertising creations by hand for major brands or publications.

Who is Gerald – A papercraft dog seen by 100 artists

“Who is Gerald” is a project initiated in 2008 by designers Liam Hopkins and Richard Sweeney, from the London studio Lazerian. This papercraft dog was then sent to more than 100 artists from around the world, responsible to imagine their own version of this paper toy. Each of these creations is then produced in a limited edition of 500 pieces. The entire collection will also be displayed during the New York Design Week 2013.

Celebrate Color – Pantone celebrates its 50th anniversary [Infography]

Pantone celebrates this year its 50th anniversary with an infography entitled “Celebrate Color“, depicting five decades of colors from the 60s to today. This infography also compiles the “color of the year”, as Pantone selects since 2000, and some interesting facts such as color trends of logos from famous brands. A reference color chart for 50 years, Pantone has acquired in recent years a great popularity as a brand and design icon, judging by the number of creative projects and parodies (see here: creative projects and parodies inspired by Pantone)
