The new project by photographer Henry Hargreaves, entitled “Burning Calories“, which offers a series of edible sculptures representing the icons of Junk Food now burning in flames. Illustrating literally the “burning calories” expression, Henry Hargreaves sets out his vision of the problem of obesity in the United State (which also applies increasingly to many countries), but also the fact that healthy, simple and natural solutions to this problem (starting with a culinary education and sport) are masked by our consumer society with an ironic over-presence of junk food and industrial diet products… Do not miss the other great projects by Henry Hargreaves: “Backstage – The special requests of Famous Musicians“, but also “Deep Fried Gadgets – iPhones and iPads in donuts?” and “Food of the Rainbow – A rainbow on your plate“.

We already talked about the photographer Gabriele Galimberti and his “Toy Stories – The Children of the World and their favorite toys” project. On the same principle, the Italian photographer is back with a project called “Delicatessen with love“, photographing the grandmothers of the world with their favorite dishes. The grandmother cooking is a universal value, often synonymous traditional, delicious and rich in emotion cooking, at the exact opposite of the fast food or prepared dishes from supermarket. Gabriele Galimberti has photographed every grandmother at their home, with required ingredients and then the cooked dish, through 58 countries! A nice set of photographs that smells good food prepared with love…

The special requests for backstage made by famous musicians revealed by the photographs of Henry Hargreaves and his project “Band Riders“. We discover the specific requests by stars of music such as Axl Rose, Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Busta Rhymes or Billy Idol and Lady Gaga. Henry Hargreaves has immortalized these strange requests in beautiful photographs of still life, restoring a part of the personality of each musician.

Rihanna – Hard-boiled eggs, turkey bacon, turkey sausage.

Frank Sinatra – Absolute, Jack Daniel’s, Chivas Regal, Courvoisier, Beefeater gin, white wine, red wine. 24 large shrimp, candies, cough drops.

Busta Rhymes – 24 pieces of fried chicken, condoms, Guinness beer.

Axl Rose – White bread, Dom Perignon champagne.

Beyoncé – Baked chicken, garlic, sea salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper, Pepsi.

McDonald’s Japan released a “French-Fries-Holder”

Apparently, McDonald’s Japan goes into gadgets offering a “French-Fries-Holder” which fits in all cup holders, allowing you to enjoy your fries in the car, on the train, on your bike… A WTF Japanese gadget that will be offered for free to McDonald’s customers in Japan from April 24, 2013… This “French-Fries-Holder” uses the french fries packaging design of the brand. A pretty amazing and strange idea!
