Vintage postcards from the World War I

2017-01-04 // unusual

A selection of vintage postcards from the World War I. These French colorized postcards, both kitsch and romantic, were sent by families and soldiers. During the World War I, sending a letter to a soldier was free and exempt from stamp, which also explains why these postcards bearing messages of hope were produced in large quantities. These vintage postcards are from the George Eastman House collection.
