Super Secretary – A sexist guide for secretaries published in 1945

2016-11-15 // unusual

Here is what looked like a guide for secretaries edited in 1945! As you can imagine, this guide entitled How To Be A Super Secretary is full of sexist clichés, reminding a secretary that she must be beautiful, discreet, obedient and devoted to her boss. This amazing vintage guide, published for the Remington Rand typewriter brand, is from the archives of the Hagley Museum and Library.
