Creating a terrestrial globe in LEGO

2016-03-11 // unusual geek universe

The American LEGO designer Dirks has imagined this terrestrial globe entirely made of LEGO bricks! An awesome personal project that needed 3863 colored bricks for a result measuring 50 cm high and weighing over 7 kg. This LEGO terrestrial globe is made of 40 layers, and perfectly shows the geography of our good old Earth, but slightly pixelated. If you have a few thousand bricks on hand and a lot of patience, it’s your turn now! In another style, I also recommend you the beautiful Globemaker series, which leads us into the intimacy of a terrestrial globe factory.
