In 1939, American psychologist George W. Crane wanted to measure the quality of couples and marriages by creating two questionnaires entitled The Marital Rating, one for the wife and one for the husband. Men and women could thus measure the quality of their partner and therefore the quality of their marriage. The questionnaires of this Marital Rating are of course incredibly misogynistic, and testify about the values surrounding marriage and the place of women in the society of the 1930s. Deliciously vintage. Don’t hesitate to do this test to measure the quality of your wedding!
