[REVIEW] Crossfade M-80 – Headphones by V-Moda

We have in our hands the Crossfade M-80 headphones by V-Moda. A brief overview of the headphones that has received numerous awards and is praised by the specialized American press…

Opening the box, we face with a semi-rigid shell closed by a zipper. First good point, this headset comes with this “cover” which seems very strong and protective! Ideal for storing headphones, cables and other adapters. Once opened, it is discovered inside the Crossfade M-80 in itself, a carabiner to attach to the outside of the bag, a 6.5 mm jack adapter and two removable kevlar reinforced  cables with remote control. You read, two cables and adapters! It’s rare enough to be highlighted! (Is it not frustrating to throw earphones or headphones just because the cable is screwed up?)

Crossfade M-80 in itself seems very well made and flawless manufactured. Weighing 180g, it fits well on the head without being too heavy. It is comfortable with its Steelflex headband and foams adapt well to the ears. On the design side, the headphones take the form of shields, which it is possible to customize thanks to the metal “Custom Shields” that can be ordered separately with your own logo. An original and robust design with luxurious finishes… Both cables are each provided with a remote microphone. The first type is universal for smartphones, Tablets, etc.. (microphone + 1 button), the other is Apple compatible (3 buttons + microphone). Perfect to answer the phone directly with your headphones or play video games.

Sound side now, Crossfade M-80 is far from disappointing! Responding to frequencies between 5 and 30 kHz with a sensitivity of 105 dB, the Crossfade M-80 has two 40mm Dual-Diaphragm with nice noise Isolation. The sound is good, the highs are clear, the mids are vivid and bass are strong. V-Moda is not from the sound-age of over-processed digital compression and offers ??clean sound and slightly deformed. Tried on different music, from the 8-bit to classic music through the nervous rock and dubstep, the Crossfade M-80 responds very well, and it has not weaken the rise of volume (my ears cracked before it…).

In short, Crossfade M-80 by V-Moda offers excellent value for money. Certainly it is not cheap (€ 166), but with its build quality, sound quality, and accessories supplied with, the Crossfade M-80 is a good choice for those who want a good sound and robust headphones!
