For over 50 years, the Finnish-American photographer Arno Rafael Minkkinen tries to reconcile the human body with nature through surreal and captivating self-portraits, long before the rise of Photoshop and digital retouching. This talented artist, working alone most of the time, stages himself into poetic, geometric and powerful black and white compositions, simply using a 9 seconds shutter release. Throughout his career, the photographer Arno Rafael Minkkinen participated in over 100 solo shows and nearly 200 group exhibitions in galleries and museums worldwide.
