Life’s a Beach – Evian under the eye of Martin Parr is a new exhibition dedicated to the famous British photographer of Magnum, who captures for many years the beaches around the world. The exhibition, installed in Evian at the Palais Lumière, includes a selection of photographs of Martin Parr created during his career, but also a series dedicated to the town of Evian, conducted in July 2015 during a residency in the French spa town. As usual, the photographer captured the scenes of daily life in Evian through his random wanderings, always looking for the unusual little detail, the hidden humor in everyday life. From Belgium to the United States through Brazil, France, Japan or England, the beaches around the world have always fascinated the photographer Martin Parr, who sees there the ideal context to photograph people, but also the popular culture of a country, expressed here with an unusual freedom. The exhibition Life’s a Beach is to visit in Evian until January 10, 2016.
