TeddyBär – The strange mystery of men dressed as polar bears

2016-03-17 // unusual photography

The publisher and art collector Jean-Marie Donat found by accident an old photograph of a man dressed as a polar bear, that he kept for over 15 years without thinking about it. It’s by discovering a second, then a third similar picture that Jean-Marie Donat had the idea to collect the photographs of these strange men dressed as polar bears, posing with passersby, on the beach, or even with Nazi soldiers. A mysterious series of vintage photographs taken in Germany between World War I and the 1960s, which has now been published in a book entitled TeddyBär.
