Urbex – The abandoned Baikonur Cosmodrome explored by a photographer

An amazing series of urbex photographs by Russian photographer Ralph Mirebs, exploring an abandoned part of the Baikonur Cosmodrome, leading us into the ruins of the Soviet space shuttle program. The Baikonur Cosmodrome, located in the center of Kazakhstan, was established in 1956, and this giant building was used for the construction of the Russian space shuttles between 1974 and 1993. Note that many areas of the huge Baikonur Cosmodrome are still in business today, and that it is from here that the Soyuz rockets are launched, supplying the International Space Station in supplies and crew members.
