They saved an injured turtle with the world’s first 3D printed shell!

A group of engineers and innovative surgeons from São Paulo, called The Animal Avengers, just saved a wounded turtle with the world’s first 3D printed shell! This turtle named Freddy, who lost part of its shell during a forest fire, was entrusted to the designer Cicero Moraes and Dr. Paulo Miamoto, who could recreate the shell thanks to photos, modeling and a 3D printer. Once the shell printed, a coat of paint helped to give the tortoise its original appearance and save it! Simply brilliant.
