CableRobot VR – An impressive suspended system for virtual reality

If virtual reality already allows a very thorough immersion in video games and simulations, the CableRobot VR promises to push the sensations even further with an amazing system of cables and suspended platform. Designed by engineers of the Cyberneum, a research unit of the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics, this system consisting of cables, motors and a suspended cabin will be able to make you feel the accelerations, falls and trips like no other, with accelerations up to 1.5 g! Of course, the CableRobot VR is to be combined with virtual reality headsets, either the HTC Vive, the Oculus Rift or the Sony Playstation VR, and will be perfect for flight simulations or race simulations. The CableRobot VR is obviously a prototype that will probably never be available, but it suggests what could be the future of simulation and virtual reality!
