The first flower to bloom in space!

2016-01-19 // unusual tech

The astronaut Scott Kelly, currently aboard the ISS, the International Space Station, has published photos on Twitter of the first flower to bloom in space! If before some plants had already been grown aboard the space station, it is the first flower to bloom in zero gravity! This is a Zinnia, whose lengthy growth cycle allows researchers to easily study the evolution of the plant. Next step: to grow tomatoes in space in 2018!
