Rawlemon – This huge transparent sphere is a revolutionary solar collector

2016-01-12 // design tech

Behind the beautiful sleek creations of the designers of Rawlemon hide some revolutionary solar collectors! The photovoltaic panels are complemented here by spheres made of acrylic polymer that concentrate the sun’s energy in the sensor, which automatically orients itself to find the optimum position. The result is that the Rawlemon sensors require only 1% of the surface of traditional photovoltaic panels to create the same power. This solution is so effective that the sensors can operate during the day, but also at night by the light of the Moon! There are currently two models, the Beta.Ey, which can charge small devices, and the Beta.Ray, which can provide power to a home or batteries of an electric car. Simply brilliant!
