After his anamorphosis sculptures and his series of nano sculptures, the smallest man-made sculptures ever made, the artist Jonty Hurwitz continues to mix art and science by creating this time the smallest man-made object ever filmed. This elephant sculpture entitled The Fragile Giant and measuring only 0.157 mm was created thanks to a 3D printing technique called multiphoton lithography, and filmed image by image with a scanning electron microscope. An amazing performance of art created to raise awareness about the plight of elephants threatened by ivory poaching and trafficking.
